Haras Império Egípcio, located in Cotia, was founded in 1982 by Maria Angela Aguiar and spans an exceptional 65-hectare area, just 33 km from São Paulo’s capital. Initially dedicated to breeding and training horses of the Selle Français breed, the stud farm later transitioned to focusing on the BH breed.
Its name was chosen as a tribute to a horse named “Egípcio”, who marked an era of significant changes with his imposing presence and remarkable personality. Given his profound impact on the career of Ana Eliza Aguiar Ramos, this extraordinary horse deserved his own “Empire”, which ultimately inspired the name Haras Império Egípcio.
With a world-class infrastructure, the stud farm features two high-performance sand arenas, a grass arena, a covered riding arena, a 600-meter gallop track, 8 hectares of open fields, a covered round pen, 55 stalls, a veterinary pharmacy, a foaling unit, a medical care facility, a farrier station, accommodations for interns, 12 paddocks, and 42 grass pastures, among other specialized facilities. Every aspect of this structure has been meticulously designed to ensure that the horses achieve peak performance in both national and international shows. This level of excellence reflects the stud farm’s unwavering commitment to horse welfare and the continuous enhancement of its training methodologies.
Beyond Brazil, Haras Império Egípcio has expanded internationally and now operates a fully structured headquarters in the Netherlands. This international expansion further strengthens the stud farm’s global presence and growing influence in the equestrian world.
In recent years, thanks to continuous investments in infrastructure and training, Haras Império Egípcio has achieved historic milestones for the sport, for Brazil and for the BH breed. In 2024, Haras Império Egípcio secured 5th place in the individual show jumping final at the Paris Olympics, standing out among the world’s elite. Additionally, the stud farm clinched the individual gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Always striving for excellence, Haras Império Egípcio continuously invests in training highly qualified professionals across all areas of its operations. From riders, trainers and veterinarians to specialists in horse management and daily care, every detail is carefully planned to ensure the development and success of its horses in the world’s most prestigious equestrian shows.
